Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2023 World Women's Handball Championship.
Senegal performed well in the Olympic qualification tournament. Gnonsiane Niombla will lead the team at the World Championship. She used to represent France and now she can officially play for Senegal. Niombla is the 2017 world champion and the 2016 Olympic games runner-up.
Ivica Obrvan was appointed the head coach in October. He used to be the men's teams coach. Friendly games played prior to the tournament showed controversial results. The main good news are that Ćamila Mičijević is back to the national team. The leader is supposed to help her team perform better than it was last time (18th position).
Frédéric Bougeant has managed to use the French model for the Senegal side. It’s about aggressive defense. Senegal performed well at the previous World Championship. Niomble has now joined the team, which means that Senegal can get good results at the main stage of the tournament.
