Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Women's Volleyball Nations League match.
The Czech Republic have put together a respectable campaign in the group stage and still have a shot at breaking into the top eight. However, their next fixture against Turkey represents a considerable challenge. They are in excellent form, having dispatched lower-ranked teams with ease and held their own against stronger opposition.
Czech Republic (women)
So far, the Czech Republic have managed wins only against mid-tier sides such as Thailand and Bulgaria. Against top-10 teams in the global rankings—including Japan, China, Germany and Brazil—they have struggled significantly, winning just two sets across those four matches. Their difficulty is most pronounced in opening sets, having lost the first set in each of their last three matches against elite opponents.
Turkey (women)
By contrast, Turkey have shown impressive consistency throughout the group stage. They recorded straight-set victories over South Korea, Canada, the Dominican Republic, and Thailand. They also came through tough five-set encounters to beat China and Poland. Having won each of the last seven meetings between the sides, Turkey clearly have the upper hand.
Czech Republic (women) vs Turkey (women) Prediction
Given the strong run of Turkey and their dominance against weaker opposition, combined with the Czech Republic’s difficulties against top-tier teams in this Nations League campaign, the smart play is a handicap bet on Turkey at –15.5.
