Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
Last week was good for the Anaheim Ducks, but the Dallas Stars had an even better performance against stronger opponents. Can the visitors at least compete for a point in Texas?
Dallas Stars
The Stars have put together a three-game unbeaten streak, including two victories on the road. They conceded only four goals while scoring a remarkable 16. The Minnesota Wild put up a fight (2:1 away), but most of the goals came against the Pittsburgh Penguins (7:1 away) and Boston Bruins (7:2 at home). Against the Bruins, the Stars registered 38 shots. Such a high number of attempts is not unusual for the Stars, who managed 40 shots in the other two games last week.
Anaheim Ducks
We think even Lukas Dostal might struggle with such pressure, though he's been doing his utmost to keep the Ducks afloat. Against the Vegas Golden Knights in his last game, he saved 36 of 39 shots, but the hosts still lost (2:3). In their recent match against the Detroit Red Wings (6:4), Dostal didn’t play. Instead, John Gibson was in goal for just his second appearance of the season, making 21 saves from 25 shots, which was enough for the win—but against the Stars, his teammates won't score as much. Despite netting six goals, the Ducks remain the lowest-scoring team (39 goals in 16 matches).
Dallas Stars vs Anaheim Ducks Prediction
The hosts will comfortably handle the Ducks. In the last 10 head-to-head meetings, the Ducks have won only once and picked up a point in another. In all other games, they suffered minimum or significant defeats. This time, it will be by more than one goal.
