The most frustrating aspect for the Wings is that, after yet another disappointing run, they essentially have no excuses left. They have lost to direct playoff contenders—the Chicago Sky, the Atlanta Dream, and the Washington Mystics—while playing at full strength. Since the Olympic break, the team from Texas has suffered seven defeats in 10 games and boasts the worst defensive rating in the league (113.7), with a gap of 7.4 points.
New York Liberty
The Liberty are close to securing the top seed before the playoffs and giving their stars some well-deserved rest. They have defeated strong opponents three times in a row and are on track for the best season record in the organisation's history. Last year, the club achieved 32 wins and this year they are aiming for 34.
Dallas Wings - New York Liberty Prediction
Essentially, the odds favour the Liberty through simple maths. Last week, they were favourites with the same spread (-9.5) against the Las Vegas Aces, the reigning champions with a star-studded lineup. Now, they're given the exact same line against the Wings, the worst defence in WNBA history. The fact that the Liberty are playing away doesn’t significantly alter the equation.
