Khachanov's preparation for the US Open can be considered satisfactory overall. The Russian likely didn't expect much more from his matches against Alexander Zverev and Matteo Arnaldi, but his victory over Francisco Cerundolo in Cincinnati (6:0, 6:3) is promising. Moreover, the US Open is a special tournament for Karen, as it was here he reached his first Grand Slam semifinal in August 2022.
