Adam Williams presents his prediction for the 2024 International Championship qualifiers match.
David Lilley
David Lilley had a good start to the season, competing in three Championship League groups and reaching the third group—a commendable result. He then won two qualifying matches but subsequently suffered five defeats. Lilley lost convincingly to Mark Allen and Si Jiahui, while enduring tough fights against Haydon Pinhey, Ross Muir, and Jiang Jun. Lilley now desperately needs to break this losing streak.
Amir Sarkhosh
Amir Sarkhosh could be the perfect opponent for this purpose. The Iranian joined the tour by defeating Iulian Boiko in the final of the Q Tour Global Play-Offs. This season, he has beaten Joshua Thomond and Ross Muir but has lost to everyone else. He narrowly missed out in his matches against Si Jiahui and Ashley Carty. Although Amir occasionally makes good breaks, he has been playing inconsistently throughout the season.
David Lilley vs Amir Sarkhosh Prediction
In this matchup, David Lilley is our favourite. We expect the contest to be long, close, and a struggle for both opponents, with the score likely being 6-4 or 6-5 in Lilley’s favour. However, we believe Lilley will ultimately come out as the winner.
