Simon Dalton presents his prediction bets on the 2024 Champions League match.
The first UEFA qualifying match between Decic Tuzi and The New Saints in Oswestry surprised many by its unexpected score. The Montenegrin champions failed to make a strong start and after half-time, they were unable to break through the tight defense of the Welsh team (0:3).
In Wales, Dedic Tuzi missed three goals by the 39th minute, half of the six shots on target were effective. At half-time, Pekovic decided on a double substitution, but neither Pulejo nor Djolaj didn’t change the situation. In the second half, the Montenegrin team did not even make a single shot on target, while the opponent counter-attacked twice.
New Saints’ risky plan of an initial attack completely worked. The players of Harrison were physically stable at the end of the first hour of the game - a very good sign for the team, whose season is just beginning. In Montenegro, the Welsh club will close tightly on its half, as it did in the second half of the home match. The Welsh champion loses to their opponents in terms of team line up (2.8 against 4.2 million euros based on the overall value of the team), but already has a comfortable advantage.
In Oswestry, Decic Tuzi did not show what it could potentially do in the second match. We shouldn't expect a lot of goals from the New Saints.
