Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the international friendly match.
Following a change in coaching staff, Denmark delivered a respectable campaign in the UEFA Nations League. The team came close to causing an upset in the quarter-finals, winning one leg against Portugal (1:0 and 2:5). Against Lithuania, Denmark are expected to take control from the outset, with superior quality evident across all areas of the pitch.
Denmark
On Saturday, Denmark made a sluggish start against Northern Ireland, but after an own goal by Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Gustav Isaksen and Christian Eriksen each got on the scoresheet in a 2:1 victory — the Lazio winger contributed both a goal and an assist. Even against a more experienced squad than Lithuania, the team played with attacking intent: 14 shots to 3 and 66% to 34% possession. Over the past three years, Denmark have suffered just one defeat in 16 home matches — a 1:2 loss to reigning European champions Spain.
Lithuania
Lithuania continue to struggle, with a goalless draw against Malta on Saturday extending their winless streak to 10 matches. In four of those fixtures, they failed to register a single shot on target. Notably, their squad is valued at more than 20 times less than that of Denmark. It’s highly probable that in Odense, Lithuania will make a couple of costly errors — before facing Malta, they had lost four consecutive away matches by a combined scoreline of 2:7.
Denmark vs Lithuania Prediction
A revitalised Denmark side appear well-placed to build momentum ahead of their World Cup 2026 qualification campaign this autumn. This fixture against Lithuania offers an ideal opportunity to showcase their attacking prowess. We’re backing a home win with a handicap.
