Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Denver Nuggets return to Colorado after a three-game road trip, where they claimed two victories. They begin their week with a match against the Phoenix Suns, who have hit a rough patch with five losses in their last seven games.
Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets continue to excel at altitude, especially when compared to their road metrics: they are more aggressive in offensive rebounds (11.5 to 10.4), more active in blocking shots (5 to 4.3), and significantly more accurate from three-point range (40.2% compared to 36.6%). On their home court, they've only suffered four defeats, half of which occurred during a poor start at the end of October. Since then, the Nuggets have only lost at the Ball Arena to the New York Liberty and the Dallas Mavericks. In their current form, the Phoenix Suns do not measure up, particularly considering their injury woes.
Phoenix Suns
On top of their struggles, the Suns are dealing with injuries—Devin Booker and Grayson Allen are sidelined. These are important, efficient shooters, and collectively, the Suns have lost 4.9 successful three-pointers with an average accuracy of 36%. Even with this lineup, they are far from their best form. This month, they have only covered the spread twice despite having a relatively easy schedule.
Denver Nuggets vs Phoenix Suns Prediction
Last season, Nikola Jokić had a field day against the Suns, posting triple-doubles in three games: 22.7 points, 10 rebounds, and 10.3 assists. We highly doubt the Suns will fare better against the Serbian this time around.
