Deportivo Riestra
In the opening stage of the season, Deportivo Riestra reached the play-offs but were eliminated in the first round. Since then, they have only featured in the round of 32 of the Copa Argentina, where they overcame Deportivo Armenio on penalties following a 2:2 draw (4:3 in the shootout). There have been no major changes to the squad, with the only notable addition being Miguel Barbieri, who joined as a free agent. However, the central defender did not feature once for Rosario Central during the 2025 Apertura.
Lanús
Lanús finished just one place below Deportivo Riestra in the 2025 Apertura, claiming seventh in Group B. They were eliminated from the play-offs in the first round after a penalty shootout defeat to Boca Juniors. Later in the campaign, the team progressed to the round of 16 in both the Copa Argentina and the Copa Sudamericana.
Deportivo Riestra vs Lanús Prediction
Although Deportivo Riestra posted slightly stronger results in the first part of the season, reputation still holds weight. They have shown their capabilities in continental competition, calmly progressing to the round of 16. Confidence lies with Lanús to secure the win, especially given the added value at this stage.
