Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The Detroit Pistons continue to impress, having recently dismantled defending champions the Boston Celtics (117:97). Now, the Pistons will put the Denver Nuggets to the test, with fatigue from a back-to-back potentially affecting the Nuggets’ performance after a gruelling February run.
Detroit Pistons
The Detroit Pistons have found their rhythm, winning eight consecutive games. Their recent victories over the Boston Celtics (117:97) and the Los Angeles Clippers (106:97) stand out, with both opponents failing to reach 100 points. Cade Cunningham has been in superb form, scoring 19+ points in 21 straight games, while Malik Beasley exploded with 26 points against the Celtics. At home, the Pistons have been dominant, securing four straight wins with a margin of at least nine points.
Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets have been one of the strongest teams in February, winning 10 of their last 12 games. However, a road defeat to the Milwaukee Bucks (112:121) highlighted the challenge of playing away, and they now face another tough trip to Detroit on the second night of a back-to-back. Fatigue will be a factor, and there are doubts over the availability of Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, who contribute a combined 34 points per game. Murray put up 20 points in their last outing, but without enough support from his teammates—aside from Nikola Jokić, who recorded yet another triple-double—the Nuggets struggled. Jokić’s individual brilliance alone might not be enough to carry the team.
Detroit Pistons vs Denver Nuggets Prediction
The Pistons are in exceptional form, having already defeated elite opponents. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are coming off a back-to-back, and if Murray and Gordon are sidelined, the visitors’ chances will take a significant hit. Given these factors, backing the Pistons with a positive spread looks like the right move.
