Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA Wimbledon match.
Diana Shnaider continues her Wimbledon campaign after reaching the third round last year, and this time she faces Diane Parry, who’s come through qualifying and picked up steam. However, the packed June schedule could come back to haunt the Frenchwoman, as fatigue becomes a factor.
Diana Shnaider
Shnaider has claimed four wins in seven grass-court matches this season, with her only losses coming against top-25 players. Overall, her grass record is impressive — 14 wins against just seven defeats. In the opening round at Wimbledon, she comfortably beat Moyuka Uchijima and dominated on serve, winning 85% of points on her first delivery.
Diane Parry
Parry (No. 118 WTA) is having a mediocre season and sits outside the top 100. She’s notoriously struggled against high-level opposition — just one win in 17 matches against top-20 players. Although she has six grass-court wins this season, all came against players ranked outside the top 100. This will be her fifth match at Wimbledon this year, and her physical reserves are clearly being tested — as seen in her first-round clash with Petra Martić (No. 138), where Parry dropped a set.
Diana Shnaider vs Diane Parry Prediction
The gulf in both class and freshness is stark. Shnaider looks sharp and should be too strong for a worn-down Parry. Expect a straight-sets win.
