Adam Williams presents his prediction for the Dubai Duty Free Cup Stakes (Group 2, 6f, 2yo) horse racing event.
This sprint is far from easy to predict. Two standouts are the absolute newcomer Powerful Glory from Richard Fahey's stable and the more experienced Shadow Of Light, running in the Godolphin silks.
Powerful Glory claimed victory on his sole start at Pontefract - a maiden for horses which have never run. The win was indeed impressive, though the field was quite small.
Shadow Of Light from Godolphin secured wins in his first two starts quite comfortably. However, he was narrowly beaten by less than a length by Cool Hoof Luke in the Gimcrack Stakes (Group 2) on his last outing. On bet365, Charlie Appleby’s charge has odds of 9/4 as the favourite, and we tend to agree with the consensus.
It's also worth mentioning Symbol Of Strength, who won the Sirenia Stakes over 6f on the all-weather track in his last start. He now boasts four starts and two victories in total.
