Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NHL match.
The Edmonton Oilers have solidified their place in the top five of the Western Conference and still have a chance to challenge the Vegas Golden Knights in the division. Meanwhile, the Utah Hockey Club remain outside the wild-card zone but are in strong form, pushing hard to make the playoffs in their debut season.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers have struggled in their last four games, losing twice—to the Buffalo Sabres (2:3) and the New Jersey Devils (2:3). Their offence has also dipped, failing to score more than three goals in any of these matches. A key loss for the Oilers is winger Zach Hyman (22+15), who averages over 19 minutes on the ice per game. Without him, their depth has taken a hit. Defensive issues are also evident, particularly at home—they have conceded at least three goals in three of their last four games, and their goaltenders have a sub-90% save percentage this season.
Utah Hockey Club
The Utah Hockey Club have won three of their last six games. Their defeats to the Toronto Maple Leafs (3:4 OT) and the Chicago Blackhawks (3:4 OT) both came in overtime and shootouts, meaning they still secured points. Impressively, they have scored at least three goals in five of those games. The team’s top scorer, Clayton Keller, has already racked up 75 points (24+51) and is pushing to break his career-best mark of 86. Defensively, the Utah Hockey Club have also held firm, conceding just 2.1 goals per game in their last ten outings.
Edmonton Oilers vs Utah Hockey Club Prediction
The Utah Hockey Club are in excellent form and have proven they can compete with top teams. Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oilers’ offence has struggled without Zach Hyman, and their recent performances have been inconsistent. The Oilers have won both previous meetings against the Utah Hockey Club this season, but one of them required overtime. This game should be close, making a bet on the Utah team with a handicap the best choice.
