After competing in the Europa League last season, Eintracht Frankfurt booked a place in the Champions League for this campaign. Galatasaray have followed the same path in terms of switching competitions. The hosts are viewed as the likelier winners.
Eintracht Frankfurt
Eintracht Frankfurt opened the German season with three victories. In each of those matches the Total Over was covered by their goals alone, as they faced little resistance. They managed that even without Hugo Ekitike, who was sold to Liverpool. Among the newcomers, Ritsu Doan has made the biggest impact, scoring four already — two in the cup and two in the league. In matchday three of the Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt slipped up 1:3 against Bayer Leverkusen, running into the opponent’s new‑manager bounce.
Galatasaray
Galatasaray spent more in the off‑season (€150 million) than they brought in, unlike Eintracht Frankfurt. Half of that outlay went to make Victor Osimhen’s move permanent, after he spent last season in Istanbul on loan. In the new campaign the Nigerian striker has already added two goals to the 47 he delivered in 2024/25. Galatasaray’s previous appearance in the autumn phase of the Champions League came in 2023/24. They finished third and moved into the Europa League, helped by the failures of Manchester United, whom they beat 3:2 at Old Trafford.
