Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Allsvenskan match.
The final fixture of Matchweek 10 in the Allsvenskan sees two sides with recent European campaigns go head-to-head. The question is whether Djurgårdens can turn the experience of facing Chelsea into a winning display against Elfsborg.
Elfsborg
The team came close to reaching the UEFA Europa League group stage but ultimately fell short. That early elimination, however, has spared them from a packed calendar. Their 2025 domestic campaign is off to a strong start, keeping them firmly among the frontrunners. After nine rounds, Elfsborg sit fourth in the standings, and a win here would see them overtake their rivals and move top. They have won six of their last seven matches. Notably, two of those home victories ended 4:3, but in the other four wins, they did not concede.
Djurgårdens
Djurgårdens reached the semi-finals of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa Conference League, where they were ultimately outclassed by Chelsea (1:4, 0:1). The result was hardly surprising. The entire squad is valued at around €20 million — roughly equivalent to Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who featured in those matches. That demanding European run ended less than two weeks ago, and they now find themselves in a challenging domestic position — ninth in the standings, with one game in hand and this fixture still to play. A negative goal difference (–2) and just six goals scored so far highlight their attacking struggles.
Elfsborg vs Djurgårdens Prediction
Given Djurgårdens’ limited threat in front of goal and the fact their last away match ended in a 2:0 defeat, another clean sheet victory for Elfsborg would come as no surprise.
