Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the WTA 1000 Miami Open match.
Amanda Anisimova will be eyeing revenge after losing to Emma Raducanu earlier this year at the Australian Open. But this time, the American is in front of a home crowd and comes in as the world No. 17, while Raducanu is riding a surprise run of form in Miami.
Emma Raducanu
The Brit has defied expectations with a stellar run so far, taking out two strong American players — No. 10 Emma Navarro and No. 48 Clervie Ngounoue-Kessler. What stands out is Raducanu’s incredible efficiency on break points, converting 14 of 16 (88%) across three matches. She’s already beaten Anisimova once this season — a 6:3, 7:5 win in Melbourne — though that was far from routine. While Raducanu’s overall 2025 form remains patchy (six losses in 12 matches), she’s clearly found rhythm this week.
Amanda Anisimova
Anisimova arrives with confidence after halting Mirra Andreeva’s 13-match win streak in a gritty three-set battle. The American has been in strong form since winning the title in Doha, taking out only top-50 opponents en route. That said, the win over Andreeva lasted nearly three hours, and fatigue could become a factor, especially against a player like Raducanu, who had a swift 48-minute match in the previous round.
Emma Raducanu vs Amanda Anisimova Prediction
While Anisimova is in great shape overall and will benefit from crowd support, Raducanu has momentum and the confidence of a recent head-to-head win. This one promises to be closely fought, and given both players' current level and the fatigue factor, it's hard to see either running away with it. Expect extended rallies, momentum shifts, and at least one tight set — possibly a tie-break.
