Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Women's Euro match.
England need only to overcome group underdogs Wales to secure a spot in the quarter-finals. Their main group rivals have already recorded a dominant win over Wales. The question is whether England can replicate that performance.
England (women)
In truth, a comprehensive victory may not be essential. In the second round of fixtures, England dismantled their main group rivals — the Netherlands — with a resounding 4:0 result. With France, who previously beat the English team in the tournament, expected to win their final group match, a draw might be enough to see England through to the knockout round.
Wales (women)
It is, however, difficult to see Wales holding out for even a point. Their defensive organisation has been poor. Over the first two rounds of the Euros, they faced 15 shots on target and conceded seven goals — only one of which came from the penalty spot. To make matters worse, four additional efforts hit the woodwork.
England (women) vs Wales (women) Prediction
Wales have lost six of their previous eight matches, drawing the other two. The prospect of them getting a result against England appears slim. A heavy defeat looks likely, which is why the recommended bet is a win for the English team combined with Total Over 3.5 goals.
