Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Manchester United have dominated Everton in recent meetings, winning their last four Premier League encounters without conceding a goal and with a total goal difference of +11. However, this is not the same Manchester United, and Everton are also a different side this season. A completely different outcome is possible.
Everton
Everton have a better chance of winning, according to bookmakers. That is understandable — in their last five Premier League matches, only Liverpool managed to take points off them. They won the rest, including a dramatic draw against Liverpool, where they equalised in the 98th minute. In the previous round against Crystal Palace, Carlos Alcaraz scored the winner in the 80th minute, and even if his shot had been saved, Crystal Palace would have conceded a penalty for a prior handball.
Manchester United
Manchester United have fallen behind Everton after Matchday 25, having lost three of their last five matches. They failed to score against both Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur in their last two league outings. Against Tottenham Hotspur, they were unlucky to face an in-form Guglielmo Vicario, who made six stunning saves. Meanwhile, André Onana did not cover himself in glory for the goal conceded, and Manchester United’s defence looked disorganised.
Everton vs Manchester United Prediction
Ruben Amorim has almost no defensive options left, with Lisandro Martínez and Jonny Evans injured and Leny Yoro's availability uncertain. With Everton in excellent form, they are rightly being backed. A neutral handicap bet on the hosts looks like a solid option.
