Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Eredivisie match.
Feyenoord Rotterdam
Feyenoord underlined their strength in the previous round by beating SC Heerenveen (1:0) with ten men. They have scored nine league goals this season, and they have scored at least twice in five of their last six matches. The standout performer has been Ayase Ueda, who has scored four in four. The defence has been exemplary as well, with just one goal conceded in the Eredivisie.
Fortuna Sittard
Fortuna Sittard beat NEC Nijmegen (3:2) and SC Telstar (3:1), twice sitting deep and playing on the counter, and they struck decisive goals late on. They were second best on key statistics but made it count with clinical finishing: six goals from 2.5 xG across the last two rounds. Defence is not this squad’s strongest suit, with seven conceded and no clean sheets. Their potential away from home should be further limited by injuries to leading players, including Alen Halilović and Daley Sinkgraven.
Feyenoord Rotterdam vs Fortuna Sittard Prediction
Feyenoord look in excellent shape and should cope with Fortuna Sittard without major problems. The match should be high-scoring, with at least three goals in total, and Feyenoord should have the final say.
