They have shown attacking consistency throughout the season, with 51 goals scored in 33 league matches — the sixth-best total in Serie A, level with AC Milan. At home, Fiorentina have suffered only one defeat in their last 10 matches, and they are not expected to face major difficulty in carving out enough opportunities to overcome a struggling opponent.
Empoli
Empoli, by contrast, expended considerable physical and emotional energy in their midweek Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Bologna, which ended in a 1:2 defeat. The coaching staff continue to wrestle with significant squad availability issues, with seven players still out injured. On the road, Empoli have conceded 30 goals in 17 matches — only Monza have a worse defensive record away from home, with 33.
Fiorentina vs Empoli Prediction
Fiorentina will also be highly motivated, having been eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Empoli back in early December following a 2:3 defeat in a penalty shootout. Back on home soil in Florence, the top-four contenders are expected to field their strongest line-up and should have enough quality to overcome the relegation-threatened visitors.
