Adam Williams presents his prediction for the Windsor Fitzdares Lightning Novices' Chase (Grade 2, 2m, 5yo+) horse racing event.
L'Eau du Sud has been flawless in his debut season over fences, boasting three victories from three starts. He delivered an impressive win at the Arkle Trial (Grade 2) in Cheltenham, followed by a slightly less polished triumph in the Henry VIII Novices' Chase (Grade 1). In this field, he seems the most favourable, and we believe that the additional 5 pounds will not pose a significant issue. We're backing him at 11/8 on bet365.
Caldwell Potter represents almost the same connections as L'Eau du Sud, although he is under Paul Nicholls instead of Dan Skelton. He currently seems set for second place. After winning his debut, he finished third in his subsequent race, which was his first attempt at 2m 4½f. A return to two miles should benefit him, and we can look forward to an exciting contest with his stablemate.
Gidleigh Park failed to finish his sole start over fences. Hopefully, any health issue will not recur, as he has potential, having won the SSS Super Alloys Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2). Yet, his previous run leaves little room for an objective assessment.
Personal Ambition has run three times this season without a win. In his first outing, he contended only with favourite Lookaway, and in his most recent start, he placed second in the Howden Noel Novices' Chase (Grade 2), outperforming favourite Johnnywho.
You Wear It Well has made two starts over fences against her own sex with modest results. She was the favourite on both occasions but made errors during the races. Hence, competing in this company might make it difficult for her to vie for victory.
