Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the UEFA Europa League match.
Vojvodina
Bandović's coaching staff didn't surprise anyone with their starting lineup in the first game against Ajax. They put out their strongest players, but they only scored three shots on target in 90 minutes (Ajax had nine). The hero of the match for Vojvodina was their goalkeeper, Lazar Carević (he made eight saves and was the best player on the field), but the full-back, Mihai Butean, had a bad game. Carlos Forbs repeatedly beat him on that side. It's worth noting that Vojvodina had a break from the Serbian league after that defeat to get ready for this match, but maybe that will slow their rhythm.
Ajax
Ajax actually benefits from starting their season two weeks before the Dutch league starts. Francesco Farioli got a chance to test his team in competitive games early on. His style is still aggressive, with quick attacks. Branco Van den Boomen's late goal was a result of Ajax's constant pressure. Halfback could start the return leg alongside Jordan Henderson.
Vojvodina - Ajax Prediction
Last Thursday, Vojvodina gave battle to Ajax, but Ajax still managed to win in the end (1-0). For the second leg, Amsterdam is again the favourite, they’re training and gaining form.
This win against Vojvodina was Ajax's fifth in a row, including friendlies. They will probably face a tougher game in Serbia, but the better team will likely win.
