Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the NHL match.
After three games, the Florida Panthers hold a commanding 3:0 lead in the series. Meanwhile, the Carolina Hurricanes have now lost 15 consecutive games in the conference semi-finals. With the Panthers preparing for their second home fixture of the series, it is fair to say that the end may be in sight.
Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers have switched into killer mode, having taken the first three games of the series by an aggregate score of 16:4. Everything is working for this squad—from Sergei Bobrovsky in goal, who has already recorded three shutouts, to their top offensive lines. However, their key strength lies in their ability to shift momentum at the right moment and deny the opposition any breathing room. In Game 3, they scored five goals in a ten-minute stretch during the third period.
Carolina Hurricanes
The Carolina Hurricanes are facing psychological hurdles akin to those experienced by the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Hurricanes have been eliminated 0:4 in their last three conference semi-finals series, and the players now appear resigned to the idea that this trend will continue. The problem extends to their on-ice performance as well: through three games, the Hurricanes have scored just one goal at five-on-five play while conceding 12.
Florida Panthers vs Carolina Hurricanes Prediction
We can confidently say that the Florida Panthers are heading to their third consecutive final, and likely very soon. They have skated over the Carolina Hurricanes in each of the first three games, and there is little indication that anything will change in Game 4.
