Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
On Tuesday, Brentford played in the League Cup. Fulham, on the other hand, had a week to rest, though their current form raises questions. For the first time since the beginning of the season, Fulham have gone three matches without a win. Can the fans at Craven Cottage help break this streak?
Fulham
However, there’s no need to be too concerned. Fulham lost to two Champions League participants: Manchester City (2:3) and Aston Villa (1:3), and drew 1:1 away against Everton. It’s all quite understandable. Notably, in all three matches, both teams scored, and since the start of the season, only in two games have the Londoners or their opponents failed to find the net.
Brentford
Brentford, meanwhile, found themselves in a penalty shootout in the fourth round of the English League Cup. In regular time, Kevin Schade's early goal was countered by Sheffield Wednesday at the start of the second half. The London side won the shootout (5:4), progressing to the quarter-finals. Nearly as many goals were scored in their previous Premier League match, where Brentford won 4:3 against Ipswich Town. Such high-scoring games are rare for them, yet in each league fixture, except against Liverpool (0:2), both teams managed to score.
Fulham vs Brentford Prediction
Considering that Fulham have conceded in eight consecutive home matches they rank fourth in shots (17.8) and sixth in expected goals (10.03 xG) at home, this match is also likely to see goals at both ends.
