Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Manchester United
That meeting was one of few bright spots for Erik ten Hag’s tenure. Since last autumn, Rúben Amorim has been in charge of Manchester United, but results have hardly improved. The club has invested in quality attackers, yet the team continues to stumble. To be fair, the opening fixture was against title-chasing Arsenal. With André Onana sidelined, it was Altay Bayındır in goal, but he too showed nerves at a corner — a costly slip against Arsenal. Up front, new signings Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha were lively, but neither found the net.
Fulham
Will Bernd Leno frustrate Manchester United again? Brighton’s players only beat him from the penalty spot last week, with Fulham holding firm for long spells. Even after conceding, the team kept their heads and struck a dramatic equaliser in the seventh minute of added time. Brighton finished with 1.48 xG and two clear-cut chances, but couldn’t put the game away.
Fulham vs Manchester United Prediction
Winning at Craven Cottage is no easy task. Fulham ended last season with three home defeats on the spin, but before that had lost just four of 16 in front of their fans. That resilience, coupled with Manchester United’s ongoing inconsistency, points towards the hosts avoiding defeat.
