Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Turkish Basketball Super League match.
Most squads have already wrapped up their regular season campaigns. While Anadolu Efes can no longer claim top spot, they still have a genuine opportunity to secure second place. To do so, they must win both of their remaining fixtures. First up is a fiery Istanbul derby against Galatasaray.
Galatasaray
Galatasaray come into this clash in poor form. They have managed just one win in their last six games, and that came in the Basketball Champions League. Alarmingly, they have even fallen to clear underdogs like Darussafaka (87:94) and Manisa Basket (75:94). Their main concern is a faltering defence, having allowed an average of 88.5 points across those matches.
Anadolu Efes
Since being eliminated from the EuroLeague playoffs, Anadolu Efes have turned their full attention to the domestic competition. In their last two games, they cruised past Karşıyaka (95:77) and Büyükçekmece (76:65). Significantly, their rotation players have risen to the occasion late in the season. Jordan Nwora has averaged 20.5 points over his last two appearances, while Rolands Šmits has added 13 more.
Galatasaray vs Anadolu Efes Prediction
These sides have met just once this season, with Anadolu Efes comfortably winning (99:87). Given Galatasaray’s current struggles, there is little reason to expect a close game in Istanbul. A moderate handicap bet looks like a solid option.
