Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Genoa’s excellent form, which the club have found since the start of November, should earn them points against a troubled Torino side. Torino started the season strongly with Paolo Vanoli's coaching staff but were then derailed by a string of injuries — a demanding schedule in recent weeks has yielded minimal points for them.
Genoa
Following their win over Udinese (2:0), Genoa have pulled three points clear of the relegation zone. They are unbeaten in four consecutive league matches, with only one match featuring a total over 2.5. Over 14 rounds, Genoa have recorded 14.90 xG — the fifth lowest in the league. It seems the managerial change to bring in Patrick Vieira has had a positive effect. The team will continue to battle against opponents of similar level.
Torino
Torino have only secured one victory in nine Serie A rounds since being eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Empoli (1:2) at the end of September. They are currently on a run of six games with a total under 2.5 — the attacking trio of Antonio Sanabria, Tyler Adams, and Nikola Vlašić have stopped delivering results. Against Napoli at home (0:1), Torino produced a meagre xG of 0.26 and managed only one shot on target.
Genoa vs Torino Prediction
In the last five meetings between Genoa and Torino, a total under 2.5 occurred in four instances. Torino will avoid underestimating their opponent — both sides will play cautiously, aiming for points.
