Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2024 UEFA Euro qualifying play-offs match.
Georgia
Georgia and Luxembourg reached this stage due to good performance in the group stages and the results of the UEFA Nation League games. Georgia have more chances to advance to the next round as they host this match. Georgia were 4th in the group with Spain, Scotland, Norway and Cyprus. The side had 8 points in their 8 games, finishing 9 points behind from the second position. Georgia lost their last game against Spain in November (1:3), with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scoring the only goal of his team and Spain being obviously stronger (1.81 against 0.62 in xG).
Luxembourg
Luxembourg finished 3rd in the group after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina (4:1) and Liechtenstein (1:0). This group also contained Portugal, Slovakia and Iceland. Luxembourg conceded 19 goals in their 10 games, with only Bosnia and Herzegovina and Liechtenstein having worse results (20 and 28 goals conceded respectively).
Georgia – Luxembourg prediction
These sides have had 3 head-to-head games. Each team won once and another game ended in a draw. It was in August 2007. Both sides will try to protect their goals in this game, first of all. They can’t make a mistake now.
