Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the 2024 UEFA Euro qualifying match.
Georgia
Georgia have managed to beat only Cyprus (2:1, 4:0) in this qualification, which is not the result you should be proud of as this is the weakest team of the group. They have also managed to end a game versus Norway in a draw (1:1) Other three games are lost, with goals scored in two of them, though. Even in a game versus Spain Georgia scored. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia plays one of the main roles in creative actions of his national side, and he’s likely to keep on this way in this game, too.
Scotland
Scotland were almost perfect in the first 6 games of this qualification, besides losing to Spain. Other five games of Scotland saw them scoring at least two goals, including the first match versus Georgia (2:0). There’s something else that tells us that we can see many goals scored in this game. Scotland have lost their main goalkeeper Angus Gunn and several defenders: Robertson, Tierney, Hickey and Souttar.
Georgia vs Scotland prediction
There’s no motivation for either of the sides. Georgia have failed to qualify via the group stage, while Scotland have already qualified. Both teams will act more freely, without looking back at their defensive lines. Probably, this is what Steve Clarke meant when he said that players would have a chance to thank their fans for support.
There’s no pressure, and both sides will enjoy the game.
