Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
Despite their Game 5 loss (116:131), the Golden State Warriors still hold the psychological edge over the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have shown signs of mental fragility throughout this postseason, and on the Warriors’ home court, with everything on the line, mistakes could once again haunt the young Texas outfit.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors squeezed everything out of their two home games earlier in the series, clinching tight wins (104:93 and 109:106). In Game 5, they seemed to coast through the opening half, trailing by 25 at the break — a possible sign they were conserving energy for the home decider. Even so, they still attempted more field goals than the Houston Rockets (103:78), a sign their offensive rhythm remained intact. Back at the Chase Center, the Warriors have now won three in a row — home-court advantage continues to play a massive role.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets, in contrast, have looked shaky on the road. Since 10 April, they’ve lost four straight away games, three of them by margins of 9+ points. In Game 3, the Rockets failed to contain rookie sensation Brandin Podziemski (26 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists in 40 minutes), often left wide open as Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler pulled attention away. Without the injured Jae’Sean Tate, Ime Udoka’s defensive rotation is thinner, and it shows — the Rockets can't afford defensive lapses against such a seasoned playoff opponent.
Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets Prediction
Bookmakers are giving the Golden State Warriors strong backing to finish the job and punch their ticket to the Western Conference semifinals tonight. With their experience, home-court dominance, and deeper starting lineup, the Warriors should get it done.
