Greece
Greece endured two narrow defeats in the group stage, losing 9:10 to both Montenegro and Croatia. However, the semi-final against Spain — currently battling for top spot in the world rankings — ended in elimination. Serbia
Serbia lost to Italy in a penalty shootout (16:17) during the group stage but responded with two victories to reach the knockout round. There, the squad earned emphatic wins over Romania (19:9) and the United States (14:9). In the semi-final, however, the team narrowly lost to Hungary, 18:19. Since the beginning of the year, Serbia has suffered five defeats in eleven matches, including a 13:17 loss to Greece.
