Adam Williams presents his prediction for the English Premiership rugby match.
Both teams are currently situated within the top eight but have ambitions to climb much higher. Their immediate goal is to win the next match, as Harlequins and Northampton Saints are both potential candidates for a fifth-place finish.
Harlequins
Harlequins ended their last home Premiership match in an uncommon rugby draw, 34:34. The result was frustrating as they conceded a crucial try with a conversion in the 79th minute. However, their latest game at Twickenham Stoop ended on a positive note. The team secured a victory over the robust Glasgow Warriors (24:7) and clinched a last-minute spot in the Champions Cup playoffs.
Northampton Saints
Northampton have been more successful in Europe than in the domestic league. In the Champions Cup, they confidently secured the top spot in their group with three wins out of four and drew a favourable opponent for the Round of 16. However, in the Premiership, Northampton stand eighth. With a gap of 15 points to the chasers and eight to the top four, their away record is far from impressive, with just two victories in their last 11 matches, dating back to March of last year.
Harlequins vs Northampton Saints Prediction
This season, Harlequins have only succumbed at home to the truly formidable clubs, Bath Rugby and Bristol Bears, who occupy the first and second spots. They have bested Northampton in the last six encounters; thus, the pattern will remain, resulting in a home win for Harlequins.
