Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
In the upcoming round, Inter Milan face Hellas Verona whose defensive stability has significantly declined. Heading into their match against the reigning Italian champions, Hellas Verona sport the league's worst defence, making it immensely challenging to withstand Inter's diverse attacking options.
Hellas Verona
In their last five league outings, Hellas Verona have managed only a single victory, with the remaining four matches culminating in an aggregate score of 2:13. Against Fiorentina (1:3), they delivered a decent first half but collapsed after the break, eventually allowing 1.96 xGA with eight shots on target. Not only have Hellas Verona conceded more goals than any other team in the league (27), but they also rank among the bottom three for expected goals against (23.27).
Inter Milan
Inter Milan, in contrast, boast a formidable attack. There's no doubting the strength of their forward line, spearheaded by Lautaro Martinez. Over 12 rounds, Inter have generated 25.41 xG and scored 26 goals, both second only to Atalanta. Against Napoli (1:1), Inter Milan had the chance to seize all three points, but Hakan Çalhanoğlu missed a crucial late penalty, despite Inter being the stronger side throughout the match (1.53-0.59 in xG).
Hellas Verona vs Inter Milan Prediction
Since December 2020, Inter Milan have won seven out of eight encounters against Hellas Verona, scoring at least two goals in all but two of those matches. On Saturday, Inter Milan are expected to secure a comfortable victory and confidently claim all three points.
