Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Despite parting ways with their leading defender Alessandro Buongiorno, Torino have started the new season with a five-game unbeaten streak. The away match against Hellas Verona is unlikely to cause them many problems — Paolo Vanoli has adapted to his squad, with which the former Spartak Moscow coach can achieve success.
Hellas Verona
Hellas Verona's instability hampers their ability to organise their defence, and the thrashing of Napoli (3:0) in the first round of Serie A was merely a stroke of luck. In their last match against Lazio (1:2) at the Stadio Olimpico, Verona had 1.50 xGA with 14 shots (7 on target), responding with only 2 shots on target. Paolo Zanetti still misses Juan Cruz and Suat Serdar — with them, the team's performance would be of higher quality.
Torino
Torino's confident displays against top clubs like AC Milan (2:2) and Atalanta BC (2:1) might have impressed Italian football fans. Against Venezia (1:0) and Lecce (0-0), the team played extremely solid defence, allowing only 1.54 xGA over 180 minutes. Of course, the club sometimes lacks attacking variety, but the forward duo of Duván Zapata and Ché Adams needs time to build chemistry: the Scotsman already has 1+1 in Serie A.
Hellas Verona vs Torino
In the last 10 head-to-head encounters, Hellas Verona have not defeated Torino (six draws and four losses). The Turin side will maintain their unbeaten run — they currently look more stable and powerful.
