Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
With ten games remaining in the regular season, the Houston Rockets have solidified their hold on second place in the Western Conference. This is a truly remarkable achievement for a team that didn’t even make the play-in tournament last year. However, the season is not over yet, and their closest rival is only one win behind. There’s no room for error, and their next opponent, the Atlanta Hawks, is a solid mid-table team in the East.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets saw their nine-game winning streak snapped against the Denver Nuggets (111:116), and in recent weeks, their defensive edge has dulled. Head coach Ime Udoka has clearly begun shifting his focus toward refining the offence for the playoffs — but it’s come at a cost. In the past few games, the Philadelphia 76ers put up 137, and the New Orleans Pelicans managed 117. That doesn’t bode well ahead of a clash with one of the East’s more potent attacks.
Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks arrive on a three-game win streak, including a statement victory over the Golden State Warriors (124:115) — a team nearly flawless since adding Jimmy Butler. The Hawks' recent surge is powered by their stars. Rookie Zacharie Risacher has stepped up impressively, averaging 17.6 points over his last five outings (well above his season average of 12.1). Meanwhile, Trae Young continues to orchestrate things masterfully, posting 27.8 points and 10.9 assists over his past ten games.
Houston Rockets vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction
In 11 of their last 12 contests, the Hawks have scored at least 114 points — and that includes matchups against strong defensive units. With the Rockets’ defence now looking increasingly vulnerable, it’s unlikely the Hawks will slow down.
