Adam Williams presents his prediction for the NBA match.
The battle for playoff spots in the Western Conference has reached its peak, with four teams vying for second place. The Houston Rockets are in the mix but currently sit at the back of the pack, trailing by just one win.
Houston Rockets
After a rough stretch, the Rockets are gaining momentum with four consecutive wins, including solid victories over the Orlando Magic (97:84) and the Phoenix Suns (111:104). Head coach Ime Udoka has instilled an impressive ball movement system, with eight players averaging 10+ points per game. Jalen Green was instrumental in their win over the Suns, dropping 29 points while shooting 50% from the field and beyond the arc.
Dallas Mavericks
An overflowing injury list has severely impacted the Mavericks. They have won just two of their last ten games, both against struggling teams—the San Antonio Spurs (133:129) and Charlotte Hornets (103:96). Defence has been their biggest issue, as they are missing key frontcourt players like Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford, P.J. Washington, and Dereck Lively. Even at full strength, the Mavericks have struggled defensively, allowing 114.6 points per game, and their weakened lineup has only made matters worse.
Houston Rockets vs Dallas Mavericks Prediction
The Dallas Mavericks have been dreadful on defence lately, conceding at least 122 points in seven straight games. With the Houston Rockets in strong form and desperate for a win, they should have little trouble breaking down the Mavericks' defence and surpassing their individual total.
