Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Miami match.
Hugo Gaston is gaining form after a disappointing start to the season—he has already made it through qualifying in Indian Wells. Now, the Frenchman is looking to repeat his success in Miami. Billy Harris is also capable of making it into the main draw, but it is unclear how his three-hour match against Mikael Ymer will affect his performance.
Hugo Gaston
The French tennis player has not been impressive so far this season (7-7). Hugo has yet to progress beyond the second round of major tournaments in 2025. However, in his opening match in Miami, he easily overcame Hady Habib (6:2, 6:4), though the Lebanese player is ranked only 177th. In 2023, Gaston lost to Harris at Wimbledon in three sets (6:2, 6:7, 4:6).
Billy Harris
Billy has had a solid start to the season, reaching the final of the New Delhi Challenger and the semi-final in Bengaluru. In Miami, the Brit had to fight hard—he came from behind after a tie-break to defeat Mikael Ymer (6:7, 7:6, 6:3), spending over three hours on court. In that match, Harris converted 6 of 10 break points and committed only two double faults. However, the physical toll of such a long battle could impact his condition.
Hugo Gaston vs Billy Harris Prediction
Gaston will be the fresher of the two players, but Harris has been more consistent this season and has already beaten his upcoming opponent at Wimbledon. This match is expected to be closely contested, so we are backing the total over 19.5 games.
