Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
After a surge of three consecutive wins, Hull City have gone four matches without a victory. Portsmouth, meanwhile, remain mired at the very bottom of the table. What a perfect opportunity for Hull City to break their winless streak.
Hull City
To be honest, Hull City have had little chance of winning recently. They've faced two top-category opponents in Burnley and Sunderland, along with two away games against Norwich City and Derby County. Securing two draws from these matches is commendable. When faced with easier competition at home, at the very least, a draw is likely: against Bristol City (1:1), Millwall (0:0), and Cardiff City (4:1).
Portsmouth
The newcomers still lack both the squad depth and experience needed. In four matches, Portsmouth have taken the lead but failed to maintain their advantage, losing to Burnley, Stoke City, and Sheffield Wednesday, while only managing to secure a point against Oxford United.
Hull City vs Portsmouth Prediction
This won't be a dominant victory for Hull City. Portsmouth have only conceded more than two goals against Stoke City (1:6). If there's a victory for the hosts, it will likely be a narrow one.
