Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Championship match.
Hull City have climbed out of the relegation zone after two rounds, yet they cannot feel secure as their rivals have the same number of points. Playing at home is no guarantee of points, especially considering that Queens Park Rangers are not a top-flight team.
Hull City
Why is home advantage not a guarantee of victory? Because Hull City have the fewest home wins in the Championship—just two. All other teams have at least four, like Plymouth Argyle, who sit at the bottom of the overall table. It stands to reason that Hull are at the bottom of the home table. In the 27th round, they won, but that was away at Millwall (1:0). Indeed, they are more productive on the road (four wins in 13 matches, 14 points, and 10th place).
Queens Park Rangers
In their last five away games, Queens Park Rangers have lost only once. Aside from a defeat to Swansea City (0:3), they've secured three draws and a victory over Plymouth Argyle (1:0) last Saturday. Overall, the London club are currently mid-table (12th position), but in terms of points gained over the last two months (since round 16), QPR rank third (25 points in 12 matches). Only Burnley and Leeds United are ahead, by just one and two points, respectively.
Hull City vs Queens Park Rangers Prediction
How can such a QPR side be defeated? Yes, Hull City beat Millwall, but they are second-to-last in terms of form over the same 12-match period. The hosts might scrape a draw, but not more.
