This time, they face a more manageable opponent — Hungary. In recent seasons, Spain have consistently beaten Hungary with relative ease.

They edged past Greece (10:9) in the group stage and came through a physical contest against Italy, winning 12:9 in the quarter-finals. Historically, Hungary have struggled in this matchup, losing nine of their last ten encounters with Spain — seven of those defeats were by a margin of at least two goals.
