At the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, they will be expected to secure a victory against Bologna, who are inching closer to the European competition spots — the underdogs are poised to challenge the favourites.
Inter Milan
A modest victory over Venezia (1:0) on Sunday somewhat demonstrated Inter Milan's genuine dominance over lower-table opponents (1.79 vs 0.36 in xG and 17 vs 7 in shots). Without injured players such as Yann Bisseck, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Hakan Çalhanoğlu, their squad depth has been tested, yet their attack remains the most potent in the tournament, having scored 46 goals in 18 matches. Since the November international break, Inter Milan have secured four consecutive home wins with a combined score of 8:1.
Bologna
Post-Christmas, Bologna have been far from dull with their impressive goal-scoring ability. Against Hellas Verona (2:3) and AS Roma (2:2), they allowed a total of 2.25 xGA with eight shots on target, leading to five goals conceded. However, Bologna have also shown attacking improvements: they have recorded 18.55 xG in nine matches since early November, which ranks them third in Serie A.
