Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Champions League match.
The Italian giants hold a commanding position ahead of the second leg at Giuseppe Meazza. The ongoing injuries to key Feyenoord players leave the Dutch club in a precarious position before their match against Inter Milan.
Inter Milan
Inter Milan extended their unbeaten run to five matches last week, bouncing back from a 0:1 defeat against Juventus by winning four consecutive matches with an aggregate score of 8:2. In Rotterdam, they dominated with 2.25 xG and 13 shots, securing a well-deserved victory. Given their comfortable position, Inter Milan are unlikely to field a full-strength squad, especially with a crucial Serie A fixture against Atalanta coming up on Sunday.
Feyenoord Rotterdam
Feyenoord Rotterdam, meanwhile, barely had any depth to call upon in the first leg, making just one substitution as injuries continue to deplete their squad. More than ten players remain unavailable, while winger Osama Idrissi is suspended due to yellow card accumulation. Their poor away form has also been a concern, failing to win on the road since 22 December, with three draws and three defeats, scoring only four goals in that period.
Inter Milan vs Feyenoord Rotterdam Prediction
Inter Milan have conceded just once in the entire Champions League campaign so far. Given their advantage, they have no reason to push for a high-scoring affair, prioritising game management and energy conservation. Feyenoord’s injury crisis makes an upset highly unlikely, and a cautious, low-scoring match is the logical expectation.
