Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Champions League match.
Inter Milan
Defeats to Udinese (1:2) and Juventus (3:4) highlighted the growing pains under new management, but the sheer quality in Inter Milan’s squad continues to deliver results. Against Ajax in Amsterdam (2:0), they dominated possession, with Marcus Thuram scoring twice and Inter Milan holding a 14-7 shot advantage. Domestic wins over Sassuolo (2:1) and Cagliari (2:0) showcased their attacking strength, generating 7.08 xG across those two fixtures — the best output in Serie A over that spell.
Slavia Prague
Slavia Prague’s group stage campaign began in frustrating fashion. Leading 2:0 away to Bodø/Glimt, they collapsed late on and were held to a 2:2 draw. To make matters worse, defensive leader Tomáš Holeš picked up an injury and has missed three subsequent games. Even in the Czech league, the Prague outfit have stuttered, with draws at Jablonec and Slovan Liberec (both 1:1). A trip to San Siro will be a step up in difficulty.
Inter Milan vs Slavia Prague Prediction
The last time these two sides met in the Champions League group stage (2019/20), Inter Milan took four points from six (1:1, 3:1), though it wasn’t enough to progress ahead of Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona. The Italians’ form, depth and firepower should prove far too much for a depleted Slavia.
