Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Serie A match.
Strangely enough, Inter Milan remain one of the few serious contenders for a treble this season, even though last year they appeared more dominant with their high-tempo, aggressive football. They have refined the art of winning on quality alone — and a home clash with Udinese shouldn't throw up any surprises.
Inter Milan
Heading into the international break, Inter had notched a fourth straight win — since their 1:1 draw with Napoli, the defending champions have consistently scored at least two goals per match. Against Atalanta in Bergamo (2:0), they generated 2.45 xG from 14 shots, with the team hitting peak form at the business end of the campaign, aided by smart squad rotation. Inter Milan boast Serie A’s best attack (65 goals) and lead the league in home points collected (33).
Udinese
Udinese’s push for a top-half finish has faltered, most notably in limp showings against Lazio (1:1) and Hellas Verona (0:1). Against Verona — a side fighting relegation — they created just 0.35 xG, conceding from two shots on target and a combined 0.22 xGA. Since the turn of the year, Udinese have won only once in five away matches — including a bruising 1:4 defeat to Como.
Inter Milan vs Udinese Prediction
Inter Milan have beaten Udinese in each of their last five meetings, scoring at least twice every time — including this season’s 3:2 and 2:0 victories. There’s little reason to expect that trend to change now. Inter will dominate in the final third and should easily put a couple past their visitors.
