Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the friendly football match.
Inter
Inter will likely finish the pre-season without any losses. They were helped by Italy’s early elimination from Euro-2024, as almost all their national team players joined Inter's before the pre-season training. They had three wins and scored nine goals in four friendly matches. Coach Filippo Inzaghi has many options for attack, besides key forwards. Carlos Correa, who is back after a poor loan at Marseille, could be used along with Marko Arnautović.
Al Ittihad
This off-season Al Ittihad made the most expensive transfer in Saudi Arabia, buying Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa for 60 millions. The team’s weak spot is clearly defence. Luiz Felipe is the only notable defender, but even he is not that good. N'Golo Kanté is still in the team, but his efforts alone aren’t enough to make the defence strong. This was obvious in their previous four friendlies, where the team missed ten goals and scored only twice.
Inter - Al Ittihad Prediction
On the neutral field in Monza, Al Ittihad will likely struggle to stop Inter’s attacks. Inter has been very strong in pre-season. The favourite will play an open style and in this case three goals could be scored by half-time
