Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the Premier League match.
Both clubs find themselves perilously close to the relegation zone, but Everton have shown signs of resurgence, unlike Ipswich Town. Both teams desperately need a victory to put more distance between themselves and danger.
Ipswich Town
Ipswich Town are still searching for their first win of the season. In their recent outing against West Ham United, they didn’t have any chance: West Ham United delivered arguably their best performance of the season, scoring in the first minute. They netted four goals from 13 shots on target, while Ipswich were more efficient, scoring once from just two accurate attempts. The team managed a clean sheet only against Brighton, thanks largely to luck and an impressive display from Arijanet Muric in goal.
Everton
Everton remain unbeaten in their last three Premier League matches. They came close to defeat against Newcastle United but were saved by Jordan Pickford, who denied a penalty from his former teammate Anthony Gordon. Newcastle United dominated much of the game (68% possession, 2.05 xG, 14 shots), but the home side created two significant scoring opportunities from eight attempts, more than their opponent, who managed just one. They didn't win, but it was their first clean sheet of the season.
Ipswich Town vs Everton Prediction
Both teams rank among the league's poorest in terms of goals conceded, with Ipswich (17th) and Everton (18th or 19th). It seems unlikely either will keep a clean sheet. Yet, both have consistently found the net, scoring in six of their last seven matches. The logical choice here is to bet on both teams to score.
