Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the English Premier League match.
Both teams enter this fixture in good spirits. Ipswich Town are fresh from their first Premier League victory, while Manchester United play their first game under new manager Rúben Amorim.
Ipswich Town
Ipswich fans would have loved to witness their first victory at home, but they'll gladly take their triumph away against a prestigious Tottenham Hotspur (2:1). This success has lifted Ipswich Town out of the relegation zone, yet they remain just one point clear of Crystal Palace, who are close on their heels. The main issue with this position is their weak defence, conceding an average of two goals per game. Only Wolverhampton Wanderers fare worse. With Manchester United's attacking prowess, goals are likely in this upcoming match.
Manchester United
Rúben Amorim has not only been announced as the new coach but has finally been presented and has started preparing the team for his first match. Ipswich Town appear to be a suitable opponent to test his ideas. Of course, these plans will still be in their early stages, but the players are sure to give their all for the new manager. Recall the League Cup match against Leicester City (5:2), which was Ruud van Nistelrooy's first outing as interim. The Dutchman performed well, going unbeaten in his four matches, including against Chelsea (1:1), but he had to leave as the Portuguese manager did not want him in his staff.
Ipswich Town vs Manchester United Prediction
This may have unsettled the players, but it shouldn't impact the result. Manchester United have a solid defence (12 goals conceded in 11 games), though they have finishing issues, with the same number of goals scored as conceded. Rúben Amorim will aim to address this immediately. So, we can expect a match where the hosts have minimal chances while Manchester United need to convert theirs. We believe they will succeed and win confidently.
