Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Wimbledon match.
Jannik Sinner
Sinner cruised past Luca Nardi (6:4, 6:3, 6:0) without facing a single break point. Still, his grass game is far from flawless — prior to Wimbledon, he lost to Alexander Bublik and barely scraped past Yannick Hanfmann. Since 2022, Sinner has claimed 14 victories at Wimbledon, yet the margin of more than nine games appeared in only five of those matches. He typically reserves his top-level performances for the second week, opting for a measured, low-risk approach early on.
Aleksandar Vukic
Vukic, meanwhile, showed promise during the grass-court stretch, with five wins and four losses, all of which included at least one tiebreak. In the opening round, he beat Sean Cuenin in four sets, landing 81% of first-serve points and firing 11 aces. The Australian often stretches top-10 opponents, especially on quick surfaces. Last year, he took a set to a tiebreak against Alcaraz and has managed at least one extended set in four of six encounters with top-10 players on fast courts.
Jannik Sinner vs Aleksandar Vukic Prediction
Vukic has every chance of making a set competitive and avoiding a rout. A lopsided scoreline is unlikely here.
