Simon Dalton presents his prediction for the ATP Halle match.
It has been only two weeks since their last meeting at Roland Garros, where Jannik Sinner delivered a convincing performance to defeat Alexander Bublik. The two now face off once again—this time on grass in Halle, where both players have previously claimed the title.
Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner continues to make progress across all surfaces, including grass. Last season, he lifted the trophy in Halle and has also reached at least the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in each of the past two years. In fact, he has advanced to the quarter-finals stage or beyond in six consecutive grass-court tournaments. In his most recent match in Halle, he comfortably defeated Yannick Hanfmann (7:5, 6:3), landing 71% of first serves and winning 84% of points behind his first delivery.
Alexander Bublik
Alexander Bublik traditionally enjoys playing on grass, but tends to produce results only when in the right form and frame of mind. In 2024, he has progressed beyond the opening round at just one of four grass-court tournaments. In the first round of this event, the Kazakh player beat Alexandre Müller (6:4, 6:4), firing 12 aces and winning 89% of points on his first serve. However, his head-to-head record against Jannik Sinner is underwhelming, with just one win in five meetings. That sole victory came during last year’s Halle tournament, when the Italian was forced to retire due to injury.
Jannik Sinner vs Alexander Bublik Prediction
Jannik Sinner has been reliably strong on grass and recently dismantled Alexander Bublik. The Italian is expected to dictate terms once again and secure a straightforward win.
